Our patented and trademarked invention is designed for precision, long range target practice. Tannerite, when used as prescribed, is safe/legal/fun for shooters from all walks of life. Please read all sections of this website so that you know you are in compliance with regulations. In 2010, the USFS issued a ruling that Tannerite can not be used when there is a “Special Order” in effect. Although Tannerite will not initiate a fire, infringers have started adding exotic incendiary chemicals to the invention, and the Forest Service, not being able to differentiate between targets, and not being schooled in chemistry, has encompassed all exploding targets in the ban during fire orders. You can easily tell if there is a special order in a particular area, as the access road will have a large orange sign that states seasonal and time restrictions on the use of chainsaws/firearms/camp fires, etc. Please respect our public lands and the other users of our forests and follow all rules in your area.
As with firearms, cannons, stereos, etc. Just because you can own and use them, doesn’t mean that you are immune to charges of “Disturbing the peace” and other such acts. Use common sense and respect adjoining property owner’s right to tranquility. If you live in a congested area, don’t shoot Tannerite there. Drive to a safe and remote location for your shooting exercise.

We have no credit card fees, and zero handling fees. Just actual shipping charges. Average shipping charges range from $9.00 to $14.00 per case, depending on your location and distance from our facility. Packages are shipped via ground, ORM-D non-hazmat.

If you need an order shipped 3-day air or over night, it must be shipped as a hazardous material ORM-D and there is a dangerous goods charge. So it is to your advantage to order early for prompt delivery and cheap shipping. Be safe and have fun!
Tannerite introduced the Binary Exploding Rifle Target to civilians for long range target practice many years ago. We are the inventors of the Binary Exploding Target and they are a patented product. We designed Tannerite to be a safe, legal, and effective training tool. With Tannerite, there is no chance of a fire, and no chance of accidental initiation from other sources such as friction or static.
Tannerite is NOT a “Firework (UN0336/UN0335)” or a “Pyrotechnic (UN0431/UN0432”). These items have unique United Nations numbers, separating them from each other. Tannerite is exempt from state and federal regulatory controls under the “Small arms exemption clause” as a shot indicator. A civilian may shoot exploding rifle targets the same day they are mixed as long as they don’t exceed their state’s limit on black powder. Per CFR, federal law allows you to possess 50 lbs of “pre-mixed” powder for sporting use. A state such as Maryland has a limit of 5 pounds. This means that you may not possess over 5 pounds of “mixed” Tannerite at any given time in Maryland, however, you may possess as much UNMIXED Tannerite as you wish, and combine the binary targets in smaller quantities as you shoot them.
Tannerite and black powder are comprised of a combination of oxidizers and fuels. The difference is that Tannerite is much safer than ordinary black powder, or any other sporting powder because it is not flammable and will not burn in either it’s mixed or unmixed state. Furthermore it can’t start a fire when shooting it, since it is an oxygen-robber and as such will actually extinguish and suppress fire.
When combining Tannerite, you are not required to have a license UNLESS you choose to mix the compounds COMMERCIALLY. A situation that would require a license would be if a shooting range were to mix and sell the targets for any form of reimbursement, but an individual MAY mix and shoot Tannerite for any NON-commercial sporting purpose.
We offer Tannerite Binary Exploding Targets to law enforcement and fire authorities. Various sniper teams throughout the world use Tannerite as a long range shot indicator. Sold to individual members of the departments as well.
We also offer a wide range of LE/FD explosive tools and training devices. Everything from explosive cutting tape and caulking to distraction devices for entering “Burn-to-learn” settings, where a loud distraction device is needed to authentically simulate exploding household appliances. We offer specialty items that we design, and that are simply not sold anywhere else. For government orders, please fax or mail us a contract on an official letterhead and we will follow with a return contact within 24 hours. All non-regulated items are shipped the same day as the order is placed.

Shipping out of Oregon, most products must be shipped via “Ground” which can take up to one week for delivery if you are on the other side of the USA.
